An Aspirin A Day, No Longer Recommended!

After many years of recommending a daily low-dose aspirin to prevent heart attack and stroke in most older adults, the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology have both reversed this recommendation.

A study finding showed that this previous recommendation does not help to prolong the lives of healthy older adults, but could rather be posing an increased risk of hemorrhages.

Recommended Action to Take:

Check with your doctor and ensure that necessary adjustments are made in your current medication regimen if any, to reflect this new update.
